Welcome to cmaps. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the cmaps mobile application ("App") and related services operated by Connor Callison ("cmaps," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
By creating an account or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
cmaps is an outdoor mapping application that provides:
Please read this section carefully. The App is designed as a supplemental reference tool for outdoor recreation. It is not a substitute for proper planning, equipment, training, or professional guidance.
All map data, including topographic information, trails, roads, and points of interest, is provided for general reference only. Maps may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. The App is not a substitute for dedicated navigation equipment, official maps, a compass, or other backup navigation tools. You should always carry backup navigation tools and should not rely solely on the App for route-finding or navigation decisions.
GPS accuracy varies based on device hardware, satellite availability, terrain, tree canopy, weather conditions, and other factors. The App does not guarantee the accuracy of location data and should not be used as your sole means of determining your position. We do not guarantee cellular or GPS coverage in any location.
Property boundary and parcel data displayed in the App is sourced from publicly available county and municipal records. This data:
Users are solely responsible for obtaining proper permission before entering private land. Trespassing is illegal regardless of what the App displays.
Hunting unit boundaries, season dates, tag information, and any other hunting-related data displayed in the App are informational only. This information:
You are solely responsible for knowing, understanding, and complying with all applicable federal, state, and local hunting laws and regulations. Always verify hunting boundaries and regulations with your state wildlife agency.
Wildfire perimeter data displayed in the App may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Fire conditions change rapidly and perimeter data may lag behind actual fire progression by hours or more. Do not rely on the App for evacuation decisions or personal safety during wildfire events. Always follow instructions from local emergency management and fire authorities.
Weather information displayed in the App is sourced from third-party providers and is provided for general reference only. Weather conditions in outdoor and mountainous environments can change rapidly and without warning. Do not rely solely on the App for weather-related safety decisions.
Offline map downloads are provided as a convenience for use in areas without cellular service. We do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or freshness of offline map tiles. Downloaded maps may not include the most recent updates. You should always have backup navigation resources available.
The App is not a substitute for proper outdoor safety equipment, planning, training, or emergency services. You assume all risk associated with your outdoor activities, including but not limited to risks of injury, illness, property damage, or death. Always:
To access certain features of the App, you may need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or illegal activity, or used the App in a manner that could harm other users or the service. You may also delete your account at any time through the App or by contacting us.
You retain ownership of all content you create through the App, including waypoints, GPS tracks, photos, and notes ("User Content").
By using the App, you grant cmaps a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, transmit, and display your User Content solely for the purposes of operating and providing the service to you, including cross-device synchronization and backup. We will not sell or share your User Content with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are solely responsible for your User Content and agree not to upload content that is illegal, infringes on the rights of others, or violates these Terms.
The App may offer paid subscriptions or features through Apple's In-App Purchase system. All purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions, including Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID account settings. Prices may change, and you will be notified in advance of any price increase.
All refund requests for in-app purchases must be directed to Apple, as Apple processes all payments. We do not have the ability to issue refunds for purchases made through the App Store.
You agree not to:
The App, including its design, features, code, and proprietary content, is owned by Connor Callison and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Map data and third-party data are provided under license from their respective owners. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written consent.
The App incorporates data and services from third-party sources, including map tile providers, weather services, fire data agencies, and public records databases. We do not control and are not responsible for the accuracy, reliability, or availability of third-party data. Third-party services may be subject to their own terms and conditions.
You expressly acknowledge and assume all risks associated with using the App in outdoor, wilderness, backcountry, or remote settings, including but not limited to risks arising from reliance on digital maps, GPS signals, battery-powered devices, and cellular connectivity.
Outdoor activities, including but not limited to hiking, hunting, camping, and backcountry travel, are inherently dangerous and carry risks of serious injury or death. The App does not eliminate or reduce these risks. Your decision to engage in outdoor activities is made voluntarily and at your own risk.

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
